“Approximately four years ago, we had an opportunity to foster a baby boy. We received a call from Harvest of Hope (Helen Ivey). She said there was a baby boy who needed a foster home; he was approximately eight days old. My husband and I were so excited but a little nervous (since we knew we would love this child as our very own), and to return him will be such an overwhelming feeling to us. However, Harvest of Hope came alongside of us with much comfort, support and understanding. We had a retention specialist come weekly to our home. She and I developed a wonderful relationship. Harvest of Hope was very consistent with everything. If there was a difficult situation they would intercede for us, with great success and compassion. Some of us know how difficult it can be dealing on your own with DYFS, having a liaison like Harvest of Hope has made things less stressful for our family. Harvest of Hope has been there for our family to the very end. We have adopted our foster child; we love him dearly, and treat him no different. He has been a gift from Jesus indeed.”
